Bread and jam for frances - preschool family cooking class

  • Schoolhouse Kitchen + Studio 349 Ashland Avenue River Forest, IL, 60305 United States (map)

What if you could just eat the same thing every day? What would it be?

Frances is a fussy eater. In fact, the only thing she likes is bread and jam. So she's delighted when Mother and Father grant her wish and give her bread and jam at every meal. This endearing story of how Frances faces unlimited bread and jam is a classic that continues to be gobbled up by children, picky eaters, and parents everywhere.

Inspired by the book, "Bread and Jam for Frances" by Russell Hoban and Lillian Hoban, we will make Homemade Berry Jam and a Mini Loaf of Wheat Sandwich Bread.

Each caregiver/ child team will make the recipes together. You are welcome to take it home or you may stay to eat together.

We'll read the book while the bread is in the oven.

Registration includes 1 adult and 1 child. If you'd like to bring 2 kids, please register an additional child at check out for $25. They will also make the recipes.

You don't need to bring anything but may bring aprons/ water bottles if you like.

We are mask optional.
